Introduction
------------

Boxes is a computer version of the game where you have to complete the most
number of squares possible while preventing your opponent from completing
too many themselves.

I wrote this program many years ago, so it's not that polished. It runs in
Mode 12, and doesn't multi-task; it doesn't even have a computer player.
However, it /can/ be quite fun, so I decided to release it. I doubt that
I'll take it any further, but if you would like to improve it please contact
me at the address below.

Using Boxes
-----------

Double-click on the BASIC program to run Boxes. You will be asked to enter
the size of the grid you want, the number of players and their names;
pressing Return will provide sensible defaults in most cases.

When the details have been entered, you are presented with the playing board
waiting for player one to move. The aim is for each player to join two
adjacent dots each move with either a vertical or horizontal line; when all
four sides of a square have been joined, the player to place the last line
claims that square and gets another turn. Place a line by pointing where
you want it to go and clicking Select.

Once all the squares have been claimed, a score-board is displayed and you
can choose to play again or quit.
